Benefits of Fish Oil for Women
By Michael Byrd

Are there benefits of fish oil for women specific to the fairer sex?

After all, women are smarter than men, have more emotional strength and endurance and they smell better too!

But despite the differences, women still suffer from similar health problems, like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and depression. The only thing men suffer from more than a woman is PMS. (My wife said this was OK to say as long as I said it lovingly.)

How we handle these health issues is up to each of us individually.

One way is to wait until you have some awful degenerative disease and then seek treatment (sounds like something a man would do). The other way is to do something before it becomes a problem.

If you choose the second method, then yes, there are specific health benefits of fish oil for women – such as less PMS and menopause symptoms and a reduced risk of breast cancer.

Every leading cause of death for a woman has two things in common. They're degenerative and preventable.

We won't quibble over ranking, since it doesn't much matter whether you have the second leading cause of death or the first. After all, there's no competition for degenerative diseases. And they're certainly not a fashion accessory.

But there's one dietary accessory you'll want in your nutritional wardrobe. And this happens to be the most amazing form of prevention available to women – the omega 3 fatty acids from fish.

On a daily basis, more and more research confirms the power of these simple, natural nutrients.

Studies tell us that increasing your omega 3 intake can help prevent heart disease, strokes, cancer, diabetes, depression, Alzheimer's, PMS, memory loss, dry skin and much more.

One of the main reasons fish oil fatty acids are so universally beneficial is because they help your body decrease and regulate inflammation – the kind you can see and the kind you can't see.

Recent research shows that all degenerative disease begins when the body's inflammatory cycle gets out of whack. And this only happens when you're deficient in specific omega 3 fatty acids.

Scientists call this an "inverse relationship," but it's really just a simple equation. The more omega 3 fish oil you have in your diet, the less risk you have for degenerative diseases.

And, to keep things particularly easy for men who might be reading this, the same goes for you. The fewer omega 3s you get, the greater your risk of premature death from some preventable disease.

It's that simple.

Omega 3 fatty acids come from cold water fish, such as salmon, tuna, anchovies, sardines, herring and mackerel.

And to get all the many health benefits of fish oil for women (or men) include more omega 3 fish in your food plan and supplement your diet with pure fish oil capsules from a reputable source.

You ladies can prove to us guys how much smarter you are by making sure you get more fish oil in your diet on a regular basis.
